HEART THIEF

6:54 PM

A reflection on Path 17 from the Tree of Life

Heart Thief
I know you
I found you under the moon
When it was bright and full
She was crying her white-chocolate tears
Over our heads, our hair wet
With the solid, solid dream
I remember you, Heart Thief
The girl who brings candy at night

I saw you in a field of desire
Arms wrapped around your knees
That expectant and curious gaze at twinkling stars
And dancing wheels
Two threads pulling you close
Bumping into walls when our fingers touched
I haven't forgotten, Heart Thief
How the vision of August went away
How you brought me a loom
Intertwining the spider net glory
Into a tapestry of pearls that I placed on my brow
And, laughing, you moved it to my chest
Then my stomach, and hips
My feet raise and the fluorite stretches
Another notch for the wall
Heart Thief, you stole me
Like the rock in the center of my wretched root
Curled into a longing wake
Remember, I found it on my walk?

So, god-like maneuvers will outweigh
Our sonic disruption of coherency

Heart Thief, I will tear the halls
Stretching into our song
And blow apart my brain
With a sword made of angles
It's all there, in my motion picture eyes
My motion picture memory
Where Plato's movie dies away
And there is no more cave

I left you a message and you got in
And I keep leaving the boat
Over and over

Heart Thief, I'm never giving up
On our cabin in the sun
Your smile is my Bible
We share a room of blades
But I won't leave you there
Turn our sheets to jasmine water
And watch you steal my heart again
Over and over
