The Mystic Path - Path 29
4:18 PM
My beloved and I have been on a 15
month long Pathworking with The Qabalah Tree of Life. You can read what
that's all about here. In the meantime, I have been documenting our work as we explore the Paths.
It is important to know these are brief notes. A true understanding of each Path begs a vital understanding of the Sephiroth connecting them. Further research on your own is highly recommended.

"If any of the Paths should have a sign marked 'CAUTION'," says Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki. "the twenty-ninth path is the one I would choose." (The Shining Paths, p.45)
This is one of those Paths that is difficult to describe, other than we know now we are finishing the final door from Malkuth, as the other two have led to Hod and Yesod, and now we ascend to Netzach and back. Where we have been working with the calculation and exactitude of Hod, we now dive into the Venusian waters of Netzach. It is a Path of intuition. It is a Path of flux and reflux, like the tides of the waters affected by the moon.
Thus, the Moon is the key Trump. In it we have the duality of the two animals: dog and wolf, both the same type of animal, but one domesticated and one wild. We begin to gain an understanding between our civilized selves and wild selves. The crustacean crawls out of the primordial waters, like we once did hundreds of millions of years ago in our evolutionary cycle. We see how the Moon is the primary deity which moves us, ebbs us to and fro on our path, as is best relayed in Dion Fortune's ficiton works The Sea Priestess and Moon Magick.
The previous Path 30, the Hebrew letter acting as the gate was Resh, the Head, where we traveled into the intellectual records of Library of Alexandria. Now, in Path 29, the gate is Qoph: the Back of the Head. It resembles the cerebellum, linking to the spinal column, the wilder, more primal part of the brain. We can never escape the primitive. The astrological sign is Pisces, and we see the male/female duality inherent in all symbols upon this Path as this is, primarily a Path about sex; not in terms of reproduction, but in utter primal connection between Self and Other, man and woman, human and nature.
"Nature is red in tooth and claw" is the primary axiom for Path 29. The raw, unbridled brutality of Nature in this Path is what one must encounter. This is not an experience of frolicking in a field of flowers, prancing with the fluttery butterflies. This is an experience of watching a lioness tear the flesh off of her own children from starvation. The Black Isis, in her ugliest and most grotesque form, must be accepted before the White Isis, in her glorious beauty, can be experienced.
Gareth Knight states for this Path: "Real love of Nature , like real love between humans, is not a thing of refined ethereal appreciation, but a confrontation and willing acceptance of reality." (Practical Guide to Qabalastic Symbolism, Volume II, p.23)
